Food Worth Leaving The House For
Real food. Real places. Real reviews. No paid placements, no fluff.
It started with one really good potato.
Dirty Potato began as a simple idea: one perfectly loaded, no-nonsense potato. But the more places I tried, the more it turned into something bigger. I got a little obsessed with hunting down the spots that actually deliver — the kind of food worth getting in the car for.
That's what this whole thing is about. We review real places on our own dime, score them honestly with the Dirty Score, and only hand out a Dirty Potato Approved stamp when a spot truly earns it. No pay-to-play. No fake hype.
How the Dirty Score works
Every review is graded across flavor, value, vibe, uniqueness, and whether it's worth the drive. Those roll up into a single Dirty Score out of 100 (also shown out of 10). Spots that clear the bar earn a badge:
- Worth The Drive (80–89): Genuinely good. Make the trip.
- Dirty Potato Approved (90–94): The real deal. A local standout.
- Legendary (95+): Drop everything. Go now.
Where we are
We're rooted in Missouri — Kansas City, Springfield, and Joplin — and expanding into Tulsa, Northwest Arkansas, and beyond. Know a hidden gem we're missing? Submit a spot and we'll go check it out.
Why People Trust The Dirty Potato
Every score is earned, not bought. We pay for our own meals, show the receipts, and only stamp a spot Dirty Potato Approved when it's genuinely worth leaving the house for.
