Dirty Potato ("Dirty Potato," "we," "us," or "our") operates dirtypotato.co (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Site or submitting any form, you agree to this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We only collect what you give us or what is needed to run the Site:

Email sign-ups (The Dirty List): first name, email, your area/city, and optional ZIP code.
SMS / text alerts (optional): phone number and your explicit opt-in consent. Phone numbers are only used for texts if you check the consent box.
Saved Spots: the email address you use to save restaurants and the list of spots you save.
Event waitlists: email, optional phone, and city for the events you join.
Spot submissions & partner/advertiser inquiries: business name, contact name, email, optional phone, city, and any message you send.
Consent records: when you opt in to email or SMS, we record the consent text shown, a timestamp, the page you opted in from, and your IP address and browser user-agent to document your consent.
Usage data: standard analytics (pages viewed, general location, device type) via Google Analytics 4 and our own event tracking.

2. SMS / Text Messaging

We use A2P 10DLC-compliant messaging. We will only text you if you provide your phone number and check the consent box, which reads:

You can opt out of texts at any time by replying STOP. Reply HELP for help. We do not sell or share your phone number with third parties for their own marketing, and mobile opt-in data is never shared with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. How We Use Your Information

To send The Dirty List, review drops, event announcements, pop-ups, products, and offers you signed up for.
To deliver the on-site city-ranked list and your Saved Spots.
To respond to submissions, partner inquiries, and listing claims.
To maintain consent and opt-out records as required by law.
To understand how the Site is used and improve it.

4. Cookies & Analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies for basic Site functionality and analytics (Google Analytics 4). These help us understand traffic and improve the experience. You can control cookies through your browser settings. We do not use cookies to sell your personal information.

5. How We Store & Protect Data

Your information is stored in secured, access-controlled databases (hosted with Supabase) and processed by our email/SMS provider (HighLevel) solely to deliver the communications you requested. We retain data for as long as your subscription is active or as needed to comply with legal obligations, then delete or anonymize it.

6. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers who help us operate the Site and deliver communications (e.g., hosting, email/SMS delivery, analytics), under agreements that limit their use of your data. Partner/advertiser leads are kept separate from our editorial subscriber audience.

7. Your Choices & Opt-Outs

Email: click the unsubscribe link in any email, or visit our unsubscribe page.
SMS: reply STOP to any text.
Saved Spots: remove saved spots from your Saved Spots view at any time.
Access / deletion: email us to request a copy or deletion of your data.

8. Children

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date.
